Join us for a two-day National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI) workshop. NNOCCI aims to change the national conversation around climate change to be positive, civic-minded, and solutions-focused. We use evidence-based communications methods, provide social-emotional support, and employ the latest climate science findings and apply them in our institutions.
At the end of the workshop participants will understand:
The shared mission of NNOCCI
Some basic climate science principles as outlined in the latest US Climate Assessment
Why we need to change the climate story
How to frame a story with tone, values, explanatory metaphors, and solutions
At the end of the workshop participants will feel:
More confident in their ability to overcome barriers to interpreting climate change issues
That they are part of a larger community of colleagues who share an interest in stimulating dialog about how we can all participate in addressing issues of ocean and climate change
The workshop will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.
The participant agenda can be found here: 2026_NNOCCI participant agenda_two day training.pdf
General Registration will open up on Monday, January 26.
Registration closes on February 17th.
